Acknowledge what you have accomplished thus far…

When I was just starting out my coaching journey a year ago, we had peer coaching sessions. In these sessions, we coached each other for 24 sessions in whatever topic we want solved or addressed. I enjoyed those sessions and to tell you honestly, I’ve made a lot of breakthroughs during those sessions. What I get coached on the most is my lack of self-validation and self-acknowledgment. The reason why I feel not good enough,…

Ask for help…

There were a few times when I could have asked for help but I didn’t. Primarily it’s because of pride, probably because I thought I’m better than the person I’m asking help from, or because I just don’t want to bother people with my personal problems. Before my coach training, I always thought that we can only ask help from our friends, family or relatives but it turned out you can even ask a stranger…

Let Your will be done…

I rarely talk about faith in my coaching sessions because faith is personal. We have different views about it, but I’ll share my experience last week. I am attending a Feast Video session when in the video, they sang Set a Fire by Jesus Culture (check this out, this is one of my favorite worship songs), after talking about getting out of the way and letting the Holy Spirit take over. This song has less…

Your circle of influence…

I have not been using Facebook a lot lately, I mainly use it for my business and there’s this one post that really stood out for me. Apparently, someone posted about something that she didn’t like about someone. We do that a lot. A few years ago, I used to rant on Facebook about everything, the traffic, politics, personal feuds and so on. Today, looking back at my Facebook Memories, I feel horrible. On a…

Ask and you might receive…

You read that right, ask and you MIGHT receive. It’s not the bible verse, Matthew 7:7, Ask and it will be given to you… but yeah, you get the idea. Have you worked on something really hard and the payment or reward that you got is not what you are expecting but you chose not to ask for more? Have you ever wondered, what the answer will be like for a question that you really…

Will you compromise your beliefs and values system?

I’m still waiting for my contract to start this November (Yay!) but I still go to interviews. First, because I’m still hoping I can get a job earlier than November. Second, because I like to improve my communication skills and I think, going to interviews is one of the best ways to do it. Anyway, I went to an interview last week, this time for a dating site for married couples. During the initial interview…

I used to be confident…

I always believe I was smart. Mainly because my parents told me I am. I was an honor student when I graduated from high school, I passed quarterly exams with flying colors even though I just reviewed for an hour. I passed the University of the Philippines’ entrance exam which further confirmed my “smartness”. I got 3 scholarships going to college which again further validated my intellect and built my confidence. Well, it all came…

Husbands, love your wives…

Today, we received our latest blessing. My baby boy is out! Although I already have a daughter, I was not in the operating room when she was born. I was anxiously waiting outside. Today was different, I was in the “war room” the whole time. This was my wife’s second delivery and seeing how everything transpired, I can’t help but be astonished by how much my wife and all the mothers endure the pain of…

Grab every opportunity…

When I was growing up, we were not wealthy, but not really dirt poor. I always dream of being rich, being able to buy whatever I want and being able to help people who need help and I always believe that the only way to be successful is through hard work. I have always been a hard worker, at least that’s what I believe. I’m an opportunity grabber. I taught drum lessons when I was…

I decided to rest…

Ever since I flew out of the Philippines in 2015, I have been hustling. When I was in Singapore, almost 3 times a week we were doing 2-3 hour gigs after work or during weekends. When we came here in 2016, I found a side hustle that really required me to work 4-5 hours more at night and it has been going on until last week. So for the last 3 years, I’ve been working…
