Most of us were brought up to be the greatest.

I don’t know about you but my parents sort of have that expectation from us and now that I am a parent myself, I am starting to feel the same way.

Parenting is always a tricky job. We wanted to protect, but most of the time we are the one who hurts our kids (emotionally and physically), we wanted to serve them hoping we will be served too when we get old, We wanted them to follow our dreams but we want a say on it.

These are contradictions that I am starting to feel now that I am a Father of two and soon to be three.

But what I want to focus on today is how to keep in mind what Jesus said in Luke 9:48, Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.

What I realized is we don’t have to be at the forefront of everything but if we are, how do we make it in a way where we pull others towards where we are.

I would love my children to be the greatest and the best but if it’s not their interest to be one, who am I to get in their way? I wanted to be able to look back in this post 10-20 years from now and see how my not getting in my children’s way has served them.

Have an awesome Saturday!

Be happy!
